What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. It covers this website, buying tickets for our events, contacting us, and visiting the farm itself. It also explains the rights you have over your information and how to use them.
The information we collect
When you send us a message. Our contact forms ask for your name, your email address and your message. We use this to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. Roost enquiries go to our cafe team and everything else goes to the wider farm team.
When you join our email list. We ask only for your email address. We use it to tell you about things like Grotto dates, festival tickets and pumpkin weekends. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and we will not pass your address to anyone else for their own marketing.
When you buy tickets. Tickets are sold through TicketTailor rather than on this website. TicketTailor collects your details at checkout and passes us your name, your email address and what you have booked, so that we can run the event and get in touch if anything changes. TicketTailor also handles your information under its own privacy policy.
When you pay in person. If you pay by card in Roost or the shop, the payment is handled by our card payment provider under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number.
When you visit the farm. We use CCTV at the farm. See the section on CCTV below.
When you simply browse. Our hosting and security providers process your IP address and basic technical information about your device in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Our website builder also counts page views and visits. See the section on cookies below.
Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
- To reply to an enquiry you have sent us. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To sell you a ticket and run the event you have booked. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you.
- To send you email updates about the farm. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To take payment for what you buy. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you.
- To keep the farm, our visitors, our staff and our animals safe, and to prevent and detect crime. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests.
- To keep the website running, secure and working properly. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe and functional website.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.
CCTV
We use CCTV cameras at the farm to help keep visitors, staff and animals safe and to prevent and detect crime. Signs are displayed where cameras are in use.
Recordings are kept only for a short period and are then overwritten automatically. Only a small number of people at the farm can view them. We share footage outside the farm only where we have a proper reason to, for example with the police to investigate an incident, or with our insurers in connection with a claim.
If you would like a copy of footage of yourself, email team@goddenwickfarm.co.uk and tell us roughly when and where you were on the farm, so that we can find it. We may need to blur other people in the footage before we can share it with you.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the suppliers who help us run the farm and this website, and only so far as they need it:
- Kinsta, our website host, which stores the website and its database.
- Cloudflare, which protects the site from malicious traffic.
- MailerLite, which sends our email updates. The service is provided to us by MailerLite Limited, an Irish company, and subscriber data is stored in the European Union.
- TicketTailor, which sells our tickets and passes us the booking details.
- Google, when a page shows an embedded map. Google may set cookies and process your IP address when that map loads.
- Our card payment provider, which processes card payments taken at the farm.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and their replies: for as long as we need to deal with them and a reasonable period afterwards, normally around 24 months.
- Email list subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. If you have not opened or clicked one of our emails for a long time, we will remove you.
- Ticket booking details: normally around 24 months after the event.
- CCTV recordings: a short period, after which they are overwritten automatically.
- Website and security logs: as set by our host and our security provider.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. This site uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies. A WordPress session cookie, and a Cloudflare cookie that tells genuine visitors apart from automated traffic. The site will not work properly without these.
- Measurement cookies. Our website builder sets cookies that count how many pages you have viewed and how many times you have visited. These help us understand how busy the site is.
- Third-party cookies. Google may set cookies on pages that show an embedded map, and TicketTailor may set them where a ticket widget loads.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop parts of the site working.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask us to transfer it to another organisation
- withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
To use any of these rights, email us at team@goddenwickfarm.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant we will say so on the website.
