More than a pumpkin patch

An autumn day out, not just a quick pick

There is a field full of pumpkins waiting for you, and a whole day on the farm around it. Follow the spooky trail through our ancient Sussex woodland, find your way through the maze, say hello to the farm animals and let the children run off the last of their energy in the Play Barn.

We plant our pumpkins between the rows of our biggest Christmas trees, so it is a pumpkin patch with a difference.

Bookings only this year

We loved how popular last season was, but it meant a full car park and long queues for a lot of the day, not the relaxed farm visit we want for you. So this year, Pumpkin Season is bookings only, no walk-ins.

Just book online and pick an arrival time that suits you, any time within that window works, and once you're in, you're welcome to stay and enjoy the farm for a few hours. Thanks for bearing with us, it means a much smoother day for everyone.

Wellies on. The pumpkins are out and the woods have gone a bit strange.

What is on

Seven good reasons to spend the whole day

Included in your ticket

Pumpkin Picking Trail

Wander the rows, fill a wheelbarrow and take your time over it. Pumpkins of every shape, size and colour, so you can mix and match for the perfect doorstep display.

Included in your ticket

Spooky Trail and Maze

Our one kilometre woodland trail gets a seasonal makeover: quirky decorations, odd characters watching from the trees and festoon lights strung through the branches. Spooky enough to be exciting, gentle enough for the little ones. The maze is included too.

Weekends

Live Music and Beer Hall

At weekends we open up the barn. Tap beers, seasonal drinks and live music, so there is somewhere for the grown ups to settle in while the children are still going strong.

Weekends

Street Food

Weekend street food from our vans: hot dogs, loaded fries and a few other options besides. Grab something hot, find a spot in the sun and watch the farm go by.

Open daily

Roost Cafe

Open every day through the festival. Local roasted coffee, sweet treats and light bites, and what we still reckon is the best view in Sussex.

Included in your ticket

Farm Animals

Come and say hello to the farm animals, which are included in your festival ticket. A gentle, unhurried stop between the pumpkin field and the trail.

Charged separately

The Play Barn

The Play Barn is indoors and open every day, which makes it very useful indeed if the Sussex weather turns. It is charged separately from festival admission.

Throughout the festival, Play Barn visits must be booked online. No walk-ins.

The Great Goddenwick Pumpkin Smash & Halloween Bash

The grand finale of the Pumpkin Festival

The festival goes out with a bang. A pumpkin smashing competition, a Halloween bash on the farm, and because the last day falls on a Saturday the beer hall, live music and street food are all on too. The same £5 admission as every other day, and a fittingly messy way to finish the season.

October on the farm, finishing with a bang on Halloween

Good to know

Bring your wellies

Keep an eye on the forecast. It is a working field, and it does not take many wet days to turn it into a muddy one.

Paying for pumpkins

Pumpkins are sold individually and priced by size, separately from your ticket. Choose yours, then take them to the payment booth and one of the team will measure them up.

The Play Barn

The Play Barn is charged separately from festival admission. It is indoors and open every day, which makes it very useful indeed if the weather turns.

Bookings only

There are no walk-ins this year. Book online and pick an arrival time, then stay as long as you like once you are in. It keeps the car park and the queues under control.

Two pumpkin patches

One sits right beside the car park. The second is out beyond the woodland walk, for anyone who fancies making more of a trip of it.

Access and buggies

The patch by the car park is reasonably accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. Its paths are stone chippings or woodchip and level with the car park. The second patch is reached by paths that are steep in places.

Dogs are welcome

We love dogs and they are very welcome. Goddenwick is a working farm, so please keep them on a lead.

Parking

There is plenty of parking on site, right next to the first pumpkin patch.
